What we make
CleverCalculator is a free reference library of online calculators covering eight categories — money, health, home, science, nature, conversions, dates and times, and everyday math. Each tool ships with clear instructions, the formulas behind the calculation, a worked example, and an FAQ covering the most common follow-up questions.
Why we made it
We wanted a single, trustworthy home for the kinds of numbers people look up every week — a mortgage payment, a recipe conversion, a paycheck check, the right paint quantity for a room. Somewhere fast, with the formula written out, the assumptions explained, and the result in the place you expected to find it.
So we built one. Every calculator is sourced from primary references, implemented from scratch, and reviewed before it goes live. We sweat the details so the page does what it promised the moment you land on it.
What we believe
Speed matters
If a tool takes longer than ten seconds to load and read, it has already failed you. We obsess over weight and clarity.
Show the math
Every calculator includes the formula it uses and the assumptions it makes. If you don’t agree with an assumption, you can adjust the inputs or walk away.
Always free
No paywalls, no “upgrade for the formula,” no sign-up wall to see a result. If we ever add a premium feature, the core calculators will stay free.
Privacy by default
We do not sell information, we do not run ad trackers, and we keep cookies to the minimum the Site needs to work.
Honest disclaimers
A calculator is a starting point. We tell you when you need a professional — financial, medical, legal — and we mean it.
Iterate in public
Mistakes happen. When we find one, we fix it and log the change on the Updates page so you can see it.
How a calculator gets built
Every calculator on the Site goes through the same checklist before it ships:
- Formula research. We track down the formula in a primary source — a textbook, a government document, an industry standard — and record it in our internal knowledge base.
- Implementation. The math is implemented in code and unit-tested against the worked example from the source.
- Article and FAQ. A short article explains where the formula comes from and when it does and does not apply. The FAQ tackles the questions readers actually ask.
- Review. A second pair of eyes reads the page end-to-end, types real numbers into the widget, and compares against an independent source.
- Publish + monitor. The calculator goes live. We track how it ranks, where readers drop off, and what they search for next, and we polish accordingly.
Coverage
At launch CleverCalculator has more than 1,100 calculators published, with new tools added continuously. See the Updates page for the running list.
Who we are
CleverCalculator is built by a small, distributed team of software engineers, finance and health writers, and technical editors. We do not have investors, we do not sell data, and we are not part of a larger network. That keeps the editorial line clean: the only audience we answer to is the person reading the page.
