Who we are
CleverCalculator (the “Site”) is a free reference site that offers online calculators. This policy describes how we handle information about visitors to clevercalculator.com. The Site is operated from the United States. Throughout this policy, “we” and “our” refer to the team that runs CleverCalculator.
What we collect
You can use most of the Site without giving us any information. We collect two narrow categories of data:
1. Information you give us directly
When you email us through the address listed on the Contact page, we receive the message and any details you choose to include. We use it only to reply to you and we do not add the address to a marketing list.
2. Information collected automatically
When you visit a page on the Site, our infrastructure providers and our own servers record technical information that is needed to deliver the page and to measure how the Site is performing. This includes:
- Your IP address (used briefly for routing and abuse prevention; we store only an irreversible salted hash that resets monthly to prevent fingerprinting across longer windows).
- The user-agent string sent by your browser.
- The pages you request, the time of the request, and the referring URL.
- If you actually interact with a calculator (type in a value or change a setting), we record an anonymous “use” counter so we can show real popularity rankings. We do not store the values you typed.
- If you submit a star rating, we record the rating, the hashed IP, and a random cookie identifier so the same visitor cannot stuff the score.
Cookies and similar technologies
We keep cookies to a minimum. The cookies that may be set when you use the Site fall into three groups:

Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which calculators are useful, which pages load slowly, and which devices we should optimize for. Google Analytics sets cookies described above and processes your IP address. We have enabled IP anonymization, disabled the ability to share the data with Google for advertising, and shortened the data-retention window to the minimum allowed (14 months). If you opt out of analytics on the consent banner, no Google Analytics requests are made from your browser.
Hosting and security
The Site sits behind Cloudflare for caching, denial-of-service protection and TLS termination. Cloudflare receives your IP address and basic request metadata in order to deliver the page; it acts as our data processor for that traffic. More information is available in Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy.
Advertising
The Site does not currently run third-party advertising and does not sell your information. If that ever changes, we will update this policy and the consent banner before any new tracker is loaded.
How long we keep information
- Server logs: 30 days, then deleted.
- Hashed IPs in our database: rotated monthly — the hash from a previous month cannot be linked to the current one.
- Analytics data (Google Analytics 4): 14 months.
- Contact-form messages: as long as we need to handle your request; deleted on request.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or limit the use of personal information we hold about you. This includes residents of California (CCPA/CPRA), Colorado (CPA), Connecticut (CTDPA), Virginia (VCDPA), Utah (UCPA), Texas (TDPSA), Oregon (OCPA) and other states with comparable laws. Specifically, you can ask us to:
- Confirm whether we hold information about you, and obtain a copy.
- Delete information we hold about you.
- Correct information that is inaccurate.
- Stop selling or sharing your information — we do not sell or share personal information within the meaning of the CCPA/CPRA, so there is nothing to opt out of, but you can confirm this at any time.
- Have the choice exercised on your behalf by an authorized agent.
We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. If your browser sends a GPC signal, we treat it as a valid “Do Not Sell or Share” request, even though we do not engage in those activities by default.
To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@clevercalculator.com. We respond within 45 days as required by US state law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a right.
Children
The Site is a general-audience reference site and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact privacy@clevercalculator.com and we will delete it.
International visitors
The Site is operated from the United States. If you visit from outside the US, you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the US. We use Cloudflare’s global edge to keep that transfer secure.
Changes to this policy
If we make a material change, we will update the date at the top of this page and post a note on the Updates page at least 14 days before the change takes effect.
